Located in all this beauty is the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District,
which serves over 10,000 students and covers 25,600 square miles (bigger
than Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire combined).

KPC and the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, and Homer are located on
the beautiful Kenai Peninsula in South-central Alaska and are bordered
by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Kachemak Bay. Despite
its northern latitude, the Kenai Peninsula has surprisingly mild
winters and cool, comfortable summers. Located on 364 wooded acres
between Kenai and Soldotna, the main campus includes a vocational
building, classrooms, library, laboratories, media center, bookstore,
a snack bar and commons area.

River Center - Pacific Salmon the Alaska Story
They offer a colorful and informative magazine includes a
description of the life cycle of the five pacific salmon species
and their habitat requirements. It also contains interesting and
not too well known facts about salmon, such as the fact that salmon
can swim as fast as 14 miles per hour! There is also information
about the health of Alaska's salmon stocks, some history about
salmon fishing in Alaska as well as information about efforts
to restore and protect salmon habitat on the Kenai River and other
salmon streams within Alaska. The book is loaded with beautiful
